How to Make a Vision Board that REALLY Works

A Vision Board is simply a collection of photos, quotes, ideas, memories, embellishments and anything else that you love and want in your life.

A Vision Board can:

  • Identify your vision and give it clarity
  • Reinforce your daily affirmations
  • Keep your focus on your intentions
  • Provide daily motivation & inspiration
  • Help you to remember why you are working so hard & what the end result will be
  • Empower you to work daily to reach your goal

By creating a Vision Board for 2018, you’re setting yourself up for success by helping you to feel energized and focused every single day.  Your vision board will keep your desires in the forefront of your mind, simply by seeing it every day.

Vision boards have been around for years as physical items which you can keep in your home or office, but now you can create a digital version too!  Try using Pinterest, create a PDF Vision Board to keep on your computer or even a jpg image which you can save as your screensaver to your computer, phone or tablet.

How to make a Vision Board that really works

Q: What should I put on my vision board?

A:  Anything that inspires and motivates you!  Think of different areas in your life that you want to improve or maintain.  You can have separate vision boards for each or one big one for everything.

Q:  When should I make my vision board?

A:  The perfect time to start in just before New Year.  Don’t wait until the middle of January to create your vision board, life will get in the way!  If you have a few hours spare in between Christmas & New Year (#Crimbolimbo anyone?!), use the opportunity to create your very own 2018 Vision Board.

Q:  Can I update my vision board whenever I want to?

A:  Of course!  Leave a little extra space in your vision board and add to it whenever you feel you need too!

How do I make a Vision Board?

You have two options here:  a physical vision board or a digital vision board.

I’m making both!

For a physical vision board, you’ll need:

  • Cork board, poster board, canvas or a pretty frame
  • Scissors, tape, glue, pins etc to stick everything together
  • Pens & markers in various colours
  • Stickers, feathers, beads, ribbons, decorative papers or cards & anything else you’d like to embellish your vision board
  • Magazines that you can cut images or quotes out from
  • This Quote Card set from the Vault (on sale now for only £7!), just print & stick!
  • Things you want to look at every day that empower, motivate & inspire you to reach your goals:  photos, quotes, sayings, images of places you want to go, a full bank account, a new home, countries you’d like to travel to….

For a digital Vision Board, you’ll need:

  • This Vision Board Quote Card set from the Vault (on sale now for only £7!), just print & stick!
  • Things you want to look at every day that empower, motivate & inspire you to reach your goals:  photos, quotes, sayings, images of places you want to go, a full bank account, a new home, countries you’d like to travel to….
  • A Pinterest account if you’d like to create your vision board on there
  • Canva, Stencil, PicMonkey or Photoshop – basically any software that allows you to add and arrange text and images!
  • Save your digital vision board as a pdf or jpeg and print it out if you wish!

Pro Tips:

Arrange your Vision Board in a way that inspires you.

I don’t like clutter, so leaving white space between my images and / or text is important to me.  If you like the look of everything joining up together or overlapping though, go for it!

Think whether you want a pattern to your vision board – you could organise your images as a circle with your main goal in the centre, lay it out in straight neat lines or a diagonal pattern.  You could even be super organised and section it by month so you can see what you need to achieve each month or quarter in 2018.

Do you like lots of bright colours, muted pastels or black and white?  You’re going to be looking at this everyday so make sure you love it!
